This 1973 interview of Golda Meir by Face the Nation, took place in Israel immediately following the October 1973 Yom Kippur War. The war was a surprise attack by Syria and Egypt, as a response to the devastating loss of the 1967 Six-Day War (only six years earlier), in which they were two of five Arab countries who attacked Israel.
The key leaders in the 1973 war were Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Syrian President Hafez al-Assad.
